I miss the days of swimming at camp with all of my cousins, eating the hot "Dynamite" (spicy sloppy joes with veggies) that my Meme used to make.
My uncles were in charge of getting the clams drunk in a big pot of water and beer that we steamed outside. They also had the duty of setting off all the fireworks at dusk.
My cousins and I would spend the day in the water, on the floating raft, diving, swimming, playing on the tubes, and laughing.
We ate green grapes, Pistachio Delight and hamburgers and BBQ chicken wings.
Late at night after all the fireworks and celebrations were over, everyone found a place to sleep. It was fun to have a house full of giggling cousins.
Now we don't have "camp" anymore, just memories of summering on the lake.
